Netflix's Robert Langdon Series: Full Cast Confirmed, First Look Released — Everything Confirmed So Far

Netflix confirmed on September 4, 2026 that production has begun in Prague on its currently untitled series set in the world of Dan Brown’s The Secret of Secrets, and released a single behind-the-scenes photo from the set: Morgan Spector as Robert Langdon and Rebecca Hall as Katherine Solomon. That is the update that moves this project from “announced” to “actually filming” — and it came with something the earlier coverage did not have: a complete cast list with every actor matched to a character.

This page is a tracker, not a one-time news post. Everything below is what Netflix and Dan Brown have said on their own pages as of the date at the top, and we will update this page — and move that date — when a title, a premiere date, or a trailer actually lands, rather than publishing a new page each time.

What we can tell you — and what nobody can yet

The boundary up front, because it governs everything that follows: a premiere date hasn’t been announced yet. Not a window, not a year. The show has no official title. Nobody has seen an episode, so nobody — us included — can tell you whether it is good or how faithful it is to the book. What can be reported is narrow and checkable: who is in it, who is making it, where it is filming, and what Netflix says it is about. Every factual line below comes from Netflix’s own Tudum announcement of September 4, 2026, Netflix’s casting announcement of August 5, 2026, or Dan Brown’s own site, and is labelled when it matters.

Two things happened at once on September 4. Netflix confirmed principal photography is underway, and it published its first piece of visual material — one photo, not a gallery, not a teaser. Dan Brown’s site reposted the announcement on September 9, adding nothing and contradicting nothing. A photo from a live set is a meaningfully different kind of confirmation than a casting press release: plenty of series orders never reach a camera rolling on location. This one has.

The full cast, character by character

The two leads were not new on September 4. Netflix announced Spector and Hall on August 5, 2026. What is new is the rest of the cast, each name now matched to a character — the first time that has been true in any official material. The list, with the credits exactly as Netflix gives them:

That is the complete list as Netflix published it. Netflix has not described what any of the nine supporting characters do in the story, and we are not going to guess from the novel; if the studio details a role, it will be added here. One character note Netflix did make: showrunner Carlton Cuse says that “for the first time ever, Robert Langdon has a serious love interest — and that changes many of the ways he sees the world.”

Who is making it

Carlton Cuse and Dan Brown are co-creators of the series. Cuse (Lost) is the showrunner, writer and executive producer; Brown, the author of the novels, is an executive producer. Netflix lists Cuse’s previous television credits as Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Locke & Key, Bates Motel and Five Days at Memorial. Emma Forman (for Genre Arts) and Zoe Robyn also serve as executive producers.

That is worth sitting with if you are a longtime reader: this is not a studio adapting Brown’s work without him. He is credited as a co-creator, not a “based on” byline. Cuse, for his part, told Tudum what drew him in: “It’s a propulsive thriller set in a fantastic location: Prague. It’s also a great love story, and a provocative exploration of human consciousness.” Prague is where the novel is set, and it is where filming is now taking place.

What the official synopsis says

Netflix’s description is short, and we are deliberately not going further than it. The series follows symbologist Robert Langdon as he “races against ancient forces — and the clock — to rescue a missing scientist and recover her groundbreaking manuscript, which contains discoveries that have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind.” Netflix says the adaptation “will blend futuristic science with mystical lore.”

That is the extent of the confirmed plot. No official material describes a scene, a villain or a twist beyond that paragraph, so neither does this page. If you want the actual story rather than the premise, the novel is still the only place to get it.

The book behind it

The Secret of Secrets was published by Doubleday on September 9, 2025. It is Langdon’s sixth adventure, after Angels & Demons (2000), The Da Vinci Code (2003), The Lost Symbol (2009), Inferno (2013) and Origin (2017). Netflix notes that Brown’s novels have sold more than 250 million copies in 56 languages.

What Netflix has NOT announced

This is the part to be careful about, because casual coverage slides from “confirmed” to “implied” without meaning to. As of the date at the top of this page:

• No title. Netflix’s own page calls the series “currently untitled.” Any name you see attached to it — including The Secret of Secrets used loosely as a show title — is not a confirmed series title.
• No premiere date, window or year. Netflix’s exact words: “A premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.” If an article or video names a year, that is a guess, not a Netflix statement, and we are not repeating any of them here.
• No trailer or teaser. The only visual material released is the single behind-the-scenes photo of Spector and Hall.
• No episode count or format announcement. The only number in the official material is Cuse’s own phrasing to Tudum — “the chance to adapt one as an eight-hour series” — which is the showrunner describing the project in an interview, not a Netflix format announcement. We will list an episode count when Netflix states one.
• No filming locations beyond “Prague.” Netflix names the city and nothing more specific. Reports naming particular landmarks are not on the official page, so they are not on this one.

Given that filming only began this month and no production end date has been given, the honest answer to “when does it come out?” is that nobody outside Netflix knows yet.

What we are watching for next

Because this page is built to be updated rather than replaced, here is exactly what will change it, in the order we expect to see it:

• An official series title
• A premiere date, window or year
• A trailer or teaser, or any photo beyond the first one
• An episode count or format stated by Netflix
• Any further cast news, or character detail for the nine supporting roles
